The First Ladies





























I have decided to do a series of plates on First Ladies and begin with Mary Todd Lincoln. She seems right for the moment.

    Fantastic idea! I'd like to see a plate with the first ladies of your choice standing together like the painting of the first lady-lawyer graduates of HLS. Or, something like a Sgt. Peppers/Common album cover. OR, small portraits of some first ladies forming a ring around the plate.

    but unlike your patron who commissioned the Blackmun plate, I cannot promise purchase. just suggestions.

    That's a nice idea. I have been thinking about how to take advantage of the entire surface of the plate...
